Introduction
UPDATE: It has come to my attention that due to a Browser Bookmark bug, people who have bookmarked this page may not be seeing all the posts. To ensure that you are seeing all of the posts, manually type 'dennispokerquest.blogspot.com' into your address bar and hit enter. You can also click the 'February' link under the 'Archives' heading to the left hand side of the screen.
First I'll introduce myself. My name is Dennis Harrison Jr. and I'm a cardplayer. I am 23 years old and live in Fairfax County Virginia.
I got this idea from a forum member on Cardplayer.com. I was having trouble taking my poker seriously. I would deposit $100 once every two months or so (usually after payday) and play in $5 SnG's or 50c/$1 NL Hold'em cash games. Typically I would start out winning, get up to $150, then take a bad beat and stay up all night playing, ending with losing my entire stake. I didn't know how to 'quit-while-I-was-ahead'.
So now I have the idea to document my quest to take poker seriously and never have to make another deposit to my online account again! I deposited $50 a week ago, purchased PokerTracker (and GT+), and have been playing at the 5c/10c LIMIT tables and have grinded out $25 to bring my current bankroll up to $75. I will now take the plunge up in levels and start playing at the 10c/20c tables tonight. By documenting my progress I hope to 1) Keep myself in check by having to report to others, and 2) Perhaps give a few people some enjoyment in seeing whether or not I can make it (or a way to kill a few minutes reading this while they are at work).
My goal is to reach $10,000 by the end of the calendar year. Can I do it? Stay tuned and find out.
I plan to update the blog after each session with pics of my pokerstars cashier window(proving BR size), and my pokertracker data for the day's sessions and my overall summary data.

Well - for one thing you are going at this the right way. Even if you do not get to 10,000 you will be a better player.
The main thing is to stay truthfull to yourself. Express your feelings good bad indifferent. Online poker is a lonely game with no one to talk to so expressing yourself is a great way to ease the pain if losing or keeping yourself grounded.
